The Robert Smithson Record Collection is a work in progress, MP3 unlimited edition artwork. The process of collecting these recordings (in record collecting terms 'digging') will allow for my own open ended search for forgotten/uncharted musical artifacts while attempting to mirror Smithson's preoccupation with entropic processes.
A slight shift occurs when a dusty milk crate is thumbed through, and a lost soul rediscovered, a rock overturned so to speak. I consider this a constructive repetition, where the collection can be shared, duplicated and displaced again.
